Mr. Blehm, the founder of The Allay Group, LLC began his insurance profession in 1999 in Irvine, California after working for his family's business as a dryland wheat farmer. Without any knowledge of insurance and straight off a tractor, and wanting a change; a childhood friend gave Mr. Blehm his first job in the insurance industry. While sleeping on his friend's couch for nearly two years, he excelled in his first role as a personal-lines high-risk insurance broker for hard-to-place risks. A short time after, he moved onto a role as a commercial insurance account executive, where he gained additional knowledge of risk marketing and placement, basic underwriting and general claims procedures. In 2006, he knew the office regime was not for him, he desired to have some fieldwork mixed with the office work. Mr. Blehm furthered his insurance profession by accepting a position as an Independent Property Claims adjuster world. He worked property damage claims in Las Vegas, Nevada and throughout Southern California. From this experience, Mr. Blehm's knowledge of the claims processes grew into a larger curiosity for the restoration side of the claims business. Then in 2008, Mr. Blehm sought after a role as Independent Storm adjuster for Hurricane Ike that caused large spread damage in Houston, Texas area. Upon arriving in the Houston area, he was taken back by the mass destruction the storm had caused. Over the next several months working this storm, being away from his young family, he realized that the Catastrophe Adjusting life was not for him or his family. This was an experience that fueled the desire to further his business plan. Once returning from Houston, Mr. Blehm accepted a position with the country's largest lender placed insurance company as a Field Staff Adjuster. In this role he gained in-depth knowledge on the claims handling process for coverage decisions, mortgage servicers, TPA's and directly with Restoration Contractors. Through frequent feedback from homeowners and contractors, it was clear there was a great need for contractors to be well-versed on the process of how property claims actually work. He knew with his knowledge of the internal working of claims, he could start a company that assisted policyholders when they sustained a property loss. Clients needed more than someone who could do the work, they needed a Claim Contractor Liaison Company ℠. Over the next 7 years, he and his family traveled the Western United States ever summer searching for that special place to call home. During a summer trip to Oregon, Washington and when stopping to see some friends in Idaho, they discovered Treasure Valley. The area immediately checked all the boxes and reminded him of his agriculture roots. He wanted his children to experience the slower place country lifestyle, as he did in his youth. In August of 2015, he moved his family to Nampa, Idaho, knowing two people and a dream to leave a business legacy for his children. The Allay Group, LLC was created! While navigating the Property Restoration side of the business for several years, he often felt there was something missing from the business model. Too many projects were running into hurdles, mainly due to obtaining finish materials at a competitive rate and in a timely manner.
